Deutschsprachige Samstagsschule
We are looking at starting a Saturday School for bilingual children between the ages of 3 to 12. Our aim is to immerse the pupils in a German speaking environment with other children where they experience the language and culture, build new friendships, and learn about the German speaking society with their traditions and customs. We would like to start a community where parents and children can enjoy the school.
The aim is to foster a learning environment where children gain in confidence and enjoy speaking in German. We aim to do so by celebrating German customs and festivals with the help of parents. As the children get older, they broaden their vocabulary base and grammar skills and have a greater understanding of conjugation. This also provide the opportunity to form long lasting friendships and communicate with other children who are growing up speaking German.
The lessons will be based in Amersham. Initially the lessons will run for one hour on Saturdays term time only following the local British school terms. We will look at increasing it to 1h30 minutes later based on demand and parents’ consent. Our ethos is that children should enjoy coming to this extra-curricular Saturday School. We aim to create a positive classroom experience, with an emphasis on celebrating German festivals and traditions.
